In reply to RW OFF AND ON THE ICE. At least the Dems aren't intent on destroying Alaska's lands and waters and selling out to the highest Outside bidders. What good is a robust economy if you don't have clean, sustainable air, land and water?

Agree with Robert–love this blog! Interesting that Malcolm and Cindy Roberts were there. Thought they were longtime Republicans. They both worked for the second Hickel administration.

Lived in Sitka and Juneau for almost 3 years. I now live in northern Virginia. Some of my friends on the Hill told me about your blog. It has become a staple as I eat breakfast every morning before work. It’s a great way to stay in touch with the politics of the 49th state. Couple of days ago, I was at Starbucks by the Metro and noticed that a young woman was reading amandacoyne.com. Guess its really catching on. Love this blog. Keep up the good work. Time to head to work.

Obciously, you are too far to the right for reasonable comprehension or have possibly suffered from too many concussions. In either case, I find your rant a bit much. Very few species are known to intentionally drive themselves to extinction. The species, scientifically known as Democrats, appear to be on a self made course of extinction. They also seem intent on destroying the state’s economy in the same swoop. I’d be willing to chip in to a fund that would send a few Democrats back to school to take a few economic classes. I think the public in our state will be disgusted by the Democratic incumbents by election day.

I work on the slope. Paid union dues most of my life and am a registered democrat. Don’t understand why democrats have picked SB 21 as a litmus test. Would love to vote for reasonable democrats. Unffortunately, the only one I know is in a non-partisan position. That would be our borough mayor Mike Navarre. Come on democratic party people. We need jobs. Without a change to the tax code, the oil will soon run out. At least SB 21 is a stab at incentifying more oil developm$ent. Its hope. A repreal of SB 21 offers no hope and is a promise that we will run out of oil and state revenue.
